Brennia Kottefaru Maldives

We spent 10 wonderful nights in November in Brennia for our honeymoon and it was an absolute dream. The island is paradise and it is so well kept by the lovely staff who cannot do enough for you. We stayed in one of the water villas and it was brand new and as if it had never been stayed in. The villa had a lovely surprise on arrival with fresh fruit and sparkling wine as a congratulations and a lovely sign made out of flowers and leaves. The outdoor shower was beautiful, the pressure was amazing and it was incredible showering with the view of fish all around you. It was such an experience being able to swim off our own deck each morning, it was so peaceful. I note people have mentioned the steps were slippery. They were at the end and it is what you would expect as they are in the sea and it was not unsafe in any way. I would recommend upgrading to the villa if you have the chance. The food and drinks offering was incredible each day, with different themes and options to suit everyone. I was worried it may be restricted with it being all inclusive but there is so much to try and I enjoyed the cooking stations each day to personalise it. I have read people saying the service was terrible. This was not our experience at all. The staff were so friendly and over to our table straight away to get our drinks order or anything we needed for the table. Some people commented on some tables not being set and if this was the case, you sat down as they were cleaning up and they were straight over with fresh cutlery and a big smile. We also tried the restaurants and we got a discount as part of our deal. It was incredible and we had dinner late and it was essentially a private dinner on the beach with wonderful steak and wine. Definitely recommend! Each day there is so much to explore with the free excursions which was incredible and we saw lots on our snorkeling trip including tortoises, a personal favourite, and it made my trip. We loved the spot by the pool to end the day and the staff were straight over with iced water and to take any other order you had, we loved trying all the cocktails. The only thing we think it missed was the ability to get ice creams during the day and we think the hotel may be missing a trick here as it would cool down guests. The different entertainment was great each night and there was something for everyone as there are so many nationalities to cater for. Our personal favourite was the beach party with live music and cocktails, it was a treat. I would highly recommend Brennia to anyone for a relaxing stay and we hope to come back. My boyfriend and I had a really wonderful time at Brennia Kottefaru. We were unsure about whether to book for 2 weeks as we had heard a lot of people say they got bored and a week was enough for them. But in all honestly 2 weeks were not enough for us! We just loved how peaceful it was. Apparently there were only 90 people on the island and we saw far less than that each day. It felt more like there were only around 20-30 people on the island and the majority of them were only seen in the dinning hall. The Room: We stayed in an overwater villa and that was a super unique experience. Looking at the sea when you wake up and hearing the waves beneath you was so crazy but amazing. It rained a few times but we didn’t care. It actually became a bit of a joke (funny and ridiculous) as the bathroom is exposed to the outside so rain flooded the space many times and we had to wade through a few inches of water to use the toilet through the night funny experience. They cleaned it swiftly though and you couldn’t tell it was ever wet! The beach’s were soft white sand and there were many times we were alone there, which was insane! The tranquility and beauty of the place made it so unique. We wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of our day to day lives and Brennia delivered exactly what we wanted and needed. The staff were a big part in the experience and made our stay special. The servers were very attentive and remembered us and even went out of their way to give us a unique experience. ❤️ Shout out to: Kanhayia who worked the Naan station and made all the delicious curries. and to Shatow and Sashika on the fruit station thank you for making our time special. Also shout out to Shanma, Winter and Hassan lovely servers in the dining hall Nayeem, Reteesh, Nesheet, Tu tu Han and Paing zu ahn - really nice friendly waiters in the bar Food and Drink: We loved the food, and that it changed each day. We preferred to have the authentic Maldivian food rather than the alternative more western food they provided as of course we can have that any time. The drinks were good (I love a decent cocktail) Some of their cocktails may have been a little too sweet for me, but the bar staff are willing and able to adjust and accommodate your taste. The coffee is pretty gross though, ha. Activities: Having access to some free water sports was great. We also loved the fact they have a football pitch where the staff can enjoy themselves every night. What was even better is they often invited holiday makers to join them. The games room was fun and we often found ourselves alone there The sunset excursion was lovely (just us and another couple) we picked a good day to go We didn’t do any others but enjoyed doing lots of snorkelling by ourselves as there are so many coral reefs and lots of great marine life (if you know where to look and when) it’s amazing! All in all, I would definitely recommend this island and we would definitely return. It’s not for everyon

Terrible holiday experience in Brennia! The hotel administration ignores all your complaints and, in principle, you and all your requests. In the all-inclusive format, in fact, you do not have anything included and there is no difference between "full board" and "all inclusive". And the snacks that are on the price list, which you can buy, are always absent on the island. Every time you come to the reception desk, they simply do not listen to you and assure you that everything is fine. The kitchen is disgusting, the service is terrible, you come for breakfast, and you have no forks on the table, or spoons, the entire staff stands in one place and talks to each other, to get a fork you need to go to the staff and ask for everything yourself. The towels are constantly dirty, the mattress for the sun lounger is in such a terrible state that it is impossible to rest on it. And in the restaurant where they serve food, bugs crawl right in the food! It's a shock. I have never had such a bad holiday. I don't advise anyone to go to this hotel even for free, because you will waste your time and ruin your mood. In the villa on the water the last 3 steps are very slippery, it is very dangerous! Considering that the hotel was opened after reconstruction, the repairs were done poorly. This is not what you expect from a 5* hotel

Amazing! We were staying in a water villa, we had a direct access to to the sea. The view was spectacular, the sunsets splendid. The food was really great with a vast panel. The staff is incredibly kind and detail oriented. All can be paid in US dollars. We went in early December and the place was not crowded at all which was really nice. Nice weather all along as well! Highly recommend staying at this resort.

A fantastic visit which started from the seaplane journey to an impeccable tropical island. Brennia Kottefaru is so well laid out with friendly staff and a real holiday of a lifetime experience especially with a water villa. Perfect relaxation with an all inclusive package will make you want to return.
